BASIC (Copy Editing)

Final review of a nearly finished product; i.e., copy editing or proof reading.  Checking for spelling, punctuation, grammar, headers, numbering and formatting.  Rate: $2.00 per page.

ADVANCED (Substantive Editing)

Close review of a rough draft; i.e., substantive editing.  Checking for word choice, phrasing, transitions, consistency, logical structure, clarity, adherence to style guide, in addition to Basic editing, described above.  Rate: $4.00 per page.

EXPERT (ESL Editing)

Additional content editing and phrasing suggestions for writers whose first language is not English.  Includes Basic and Advanced editing services, described above.  Rate:  $5.00 per page.

Tables and Graphs

Pages with tables and graphs count as part of a full page, regardless of the word count.  The tables and graphs will be edited for spelling, formatting, labeling and logic.  The editor will not analyze the data for accuracy, but she will compare the written analysis to the visual aid and confirm its consistency.

Fact Checking

Facts and quotes that seem questionable or illogical will be highlighted for the author to double check and confirm.  The editor will not research data or quotes for accuracy.  The author is responsible for all content and analysis.
